Icon - CNWL NHS Health Charity.pngThe CNWL NHS Health Charity raises funds for exciting, and pioneering projects that improve health and wellbeing for our patients, staff and communities, by investing in people, projects and ideas which complement and enhance what the NHS is able to provide.

The projects could be anything from murals and gardens, funding research, helping patients take part in social activities or get access to education and learning.

Earlier this year, the CNWL NHS Health Charity funded the new Riverside Rangers football teams. Made up of service users from our mental health services in Hillingdon, there is a mixed team and a women’s team who train every Tuesday at Brunel University.

Riverside Rangers had their first friendly matches in May 2024 and will be playing monthly matches and tournaments throughout the year in the North West London Mental Health League, which is fully affiliated with Middlesex FA, and made up of players who are mental health service users across London.

The football teams will help to build a sense of community and build fitness for service users, which can help to improve mental wellbeing.

Rachel Cummins, Physical Health Lead Nurse in Hillingdon said:

“We have already seen the development of new friendships and an incredible improvement in our players’ confidence and fitness. We are looking to develop and grow the club and welcoming of new players.”
