HMP Woodhill is a core local establishment serving courts across the Thames Valley Region as well as Northamptonshire. Woodhill has a dual role in that it also holds some Category A prisoners.

HMP Woodhill is mainly a Category B male prison, located in Milton Keynes, England and can accommodate up to 819 prisoners at full capacity. The prison holds remand and sentenced prisoners aged 18 and above. In addition, Woodhill has been one of the eight national high security prisons, holding Category A prisoners, some in the "Closed Supervision Centre", but has a changing population with the national prison reform, and is now mainly for category B prisoners.
