HMYOI Cookham Wood is one of four establishments the Youth Justice Board (YJB) commission from the National Offender Management Service (NOMS) to provide specialist custodial places for young people aged 15 to 18.
CNWL provide all healthcare services, which includes primary care, mental health and substance misuse services. We have leading experts within the field of children and young people (CYP) in custody, and provide specialist mental healthcare that includes art therapy, speech and language therapy, family therapy, health and wellbeing practitioners, alongside clinical psychology and occupational therapy. The operational capacity is 178.
- We provide dedicated CAMHS psychiatry, Primary Care and Substance Misuse Services onsite, which are supported by our experienced pharmaceutical team that help support optimal treatment choices.
- Work with the young person being at the heart of what we do, and ensure that service users have a voice and promote inclusion.
- Seek regular feedback and work in collaboration to continue to develop excellent services.
