We’re celebrating International Nurses Day on Wednesday 12 May on the theme A Voice to Lead, and we are looking forward to reflecting on all the fantastic work our nurses and healthcare assistants (HCA's) do.

To mark the occasion, we have sent out a commemorative badge to all of our CNWL Nurses and HCA's – because you are amazing! Teams are celebrating locally with their canvas tote bags, which include our CNWL Nurses logo. Take a look at the pictures here.

We will also be sharing stories from across our wide nursing family, with our CNWL colleagues reflecting on their careers and why they decided to become a nurse. Keep an eye out across CNWL’s website and Twitter page.

Our Chief Nurse, Maria O’Brien will be hosting a webinar on Wednesday from 2pm to 3.30pm, where we will be joined by Jane Cleggs, London’s Regional Chief Nurse. Hearing from our divisional directors and leads of nursing, the webinar provides insights into key topics:

  • A new era of mental health nursing
  • The role and contribution of community nursing
  • IPC nursing response to the pandemic
  • The roll-out of vaccination programmes
