An animated film created for YouTube by Best For You has won the award for Best Charity Film (Health and Wellbeing) at the Big Syn International Film Festival.

The film, ‘What are eating disorders?’, was co-created with clinicians and people with lived experience of mental ill-health to ensure it was inclusive and informed young people about eating disorders without including imitable or triggering detail.

As a result of the win, the film will be highlighted on Piccadilly Lights at Piccadilly Circus in London, raising the visibility of Best For You and encouraging people to seek mental health support if they’re struggling with an eating disorder. The film’s clear message is that help is available, and it is possible to recover.

You can watch the film and read more about the award on the Best For You website.

Best For You

Best For You is an innovative approach to mental health care designed for – and in consultation with – young people and their families.

By joining up different elements of support, it is helping to address the growing and urgent crisis in young people’s mental health, making it easier for them to access the help they need.

The project is run in partnership by CNWL, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, West London NHS Trust, and CW+. It is being evaluated by academic experts at Imperial College.
