Brent Health Matters have launched a poster competition for anyone under 18 living or studying in Brent to raise awareness and join the fight against type 2 diabetes.

Children and young adults are tasked with helping Mrs Ari the lion, the Queen of the Vanni Forest, who has travelled to Brent to get help as the animals in her kingdom are suffering from diabetes. Mrs Ari the lion thinks the animals in her kingdom started getting diabetes when they changed their good eating habits and she wants to know what humans are doing to avoid getting diabetes.

The task is to design a poster to help Mrs Ari the lion find out what humans are doing to avoid getting diabetes; this could be through regular exercise and healthy eating.

Links to resources aimed at children explaining diabetes and how to treat and prevent type 2 diabetes are available on the Brent Health Matters webpage.

Those who enter can win prizes worth £125, £75, and £50 from a retailer of their choice. All participants will be presented with a certificate.

Three winners will be chosen in primary and secondary age groups.

Anyone under 18 living or studying in Brent can submit one poster to brenthealthmatters@brent.gov.uk or entries can be sent by post to:
