Last week, we launched Camden’s first Integrated Neighbourhood Team (INT), which brings together staff from CNWL and the Council to work together under one roof in support of adults with health and care needs.

Our East Neighbourhood Team is now up and running, working from a shared office at the Kentish Town Health Centre. This includes some of CNWL's adult community services with adult social care.

This is part of a project to develop Camden’s neighbourhood model and empower residents to live healthy, happy and independent lives.

Sofia Venuti, CNWL’s East Neighbourhood Lead said:

“CNWL’s East team provides district nursing and physical rehabilitation. District nursing includes medication management, skin and wound care, end of life care, continence and catheter care.

Community rehabilitation includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists and rehabilitation assistants who provide home-based plans, equipment loans and a specialised falls service.”

What are Integrated Neighbourhood Teams?

In a nutshell, INTs bring together professionals from different organisations—health, social care, mental health services, and even the voluntary sector—to work as one team. This helps remove the confusion that residents often face when trying to navigate multiple services.

Our teams already work closely with partners across the borough, but this is the first time they've all been based together in the same building.

Sarah Hulme, Community Services Director - CNWL Inner London, said:

"I’m incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication our staff have shown in making the move to an Integrated Neighbourhood Team. It’s no small task, but their commitment has been truly inspiring. This transition is about more than just working under one roof—it’s about building stronger relationships and delivering more coordinated care. I can’t wait to see what’s next.”

The first week of the East Integrated Neighbourhood Team

In the first week, we’re already seeing impacts, and staff are benefiting from a more connected working environment.

Social workers commented on the ease of home visits now that they were based in the community, and multiple staff benefiting from easy communication with GPs. Information was shared more easily, saving time on emails and phone calls.

We’ve already started running “Lunch and Learn” sessions, where different teams take turns sharing what they do, helping to break down barriers and increase understanding across professions.

In our latest session we were joined by local leaders and Councillor Anna Wright, Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care at Camden Council.

Cllr Anna Wright said:

"I'm passionate about this new way of working because it’s exactly what Camden needs. It's been a challenging journey, but what a fantastic start we've had. We know there’s more to do, and we’re committed to making sure this model spreads across the whole of Camden. By integrating services and removing barriers, we can truly work in the way we need to."

The launch of the East Integrated Neighbourhood Team is just the beginning, and we’re pushing ahead with setting up four more neighbourhood teams across the whole borough.

We’re looking forward to deepening integration with mental health services, voluntary organisations, and the local community.

With guidance from the government, such as the Fuller Review and the push to shift more care into communities, Camden’s progress can help shape wider regional and national approaches.
