We were thrilled to see six of CNWL’s Healthcare Support Workers (HCSW) shortlisted at this year’s London HCSW awards.
The awards are dedicated to honouring the remarkable contributions, dedication, and professionalism exhibited by HCSW across the region. The winners were announced at a ceremony earlier this week.
Individual apprentices and HCSW teams were nominated in the following categories:
- Collaboration and Partnership: Mary Quirke
- HCSW Apprentice of the Year: Rupshana Ali
- HCSW of the Year: Diane Stephens
- HCSW of the Year: Gary Collings
- HCSW of the Year: Najwa Nayim
- HCSW Team of the Year: Jan Todd and Ivorine Campbell
Support Worker, Bridget Creed, received a Long Service Award at the event, as the longest-serving HCSW at CNWL.
This year, the Trust was also presented with the HCSW Programme Recognition Award, recognising “the collaborative work that has taken place to reduce recruitment rates, tidy up data and bring all the right people together to work collaboratively to improve the HCSW experience”.
Among the nominees for 2024 was Mary Quirke, a REST Recovery Worker, part of the Psychiatric Liaison Team and working with patients to offer addiction recovery services. Mary’s journey with CNWL spans over two decades, beginning in 1999 when she joined the Crisis Resolution Team. You read more here.
