National Preceptorship for Nursing Interim Quality Mark_2023.pngCNWL is delighted to have been awarded with a National Preceptorship Interim Quality Mark. This means that CNWL has been recognised as an organisation that offer’s a high quality Preceptorship programme for newly qualified registered clinicians.

All newly registered nurses, nursing associates, and midwives should now receive preceptorship in their first-year post-registration. Preceptorship is a structured start for newly qualified registered clinicians, and aims to welcome and integrate them into their new team and place of work. Preceptorship also helps professionals to translate and embed their knowledge into everyday practice, grow in confidence and have the best possible start to their careers.

Preceptorship programmes may include classroom teaching, attainment of role-specific competencies, online support, clinical supervision, and coaching. The benefits of having a preceptorship established as part of the culture of an organisation includes retention, recruitment, and staff engagement.
