CNWL hosted a Clinical Support Worker Conference on Tuesday, 8 October at the Hamilton House Conference Centre. The event brought together Healthcare Support Workers (HCSWs) and Allied Health Professional HCSWs from across the Trust. Attendees engaged in a full day of workshops and activities aimed at developing their skills and knowledge in key areas such as enhanced observation, therapeutic engagement and managing deteriorating patients.
The conference also celebrated excellence, with NHS England (NHSE) presenting six more winners of the Chief Nursing Officer HCSW Excellence Awards. This brought CNWL’s total to 17 award winners this year, making CNWL the leading London Trust with HCSWs receiving this recognition.
In addition to learning, the event was a fantastic opportunity for networking with clinical leads and discovering various development opportunities within the Trust. Participants learned about opportunities such as the Conversation Club, clinical apprenticeships, the Higher Development Award and volunteer services.
A highlight of the day was hearing the inspiring career journeys of several HCSWs across the Trust. These stories showcased the broad range of transferable skills they have gained, highlighting the personal and professional growth possible within the field.
