Following the success of our 21 Century leadership Programmes 1, 2 and 3, CNWL hosted a vibrant and energetic launch to Programme 4 on 16 September at International Students House. Programme 4 is aimed at Band 8A and 8B managers and leaders, with at least 50% participants being from a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic background.

This has been our biggest Programme to date with 169 participants attending across the Trust. Attendees received a fantastic welcome to the programme from Claire Murdoch, CNWL Chief Executive, Graeme Caul, Chief Operating Officer, and Tom Shearer, Chief Finance Officer, who shared personal aspects of their leadership journeys. Each spoke passionately about the importance of authenticity in the workplace, encouraging participants to "bring themselves to work," challenge themselves, be kind when they make mistakes and take ownership of their professional development.

We’re looking forward to supporting and developing our leaders of the future throughout this Programme.

About the 21 Century Leadership Programme

CNWL’s 21st Century Leadership Programme (21CLP) is a Trust-wide management and leadership programme focusing on compassionate leadership through living our values and modelling behaviours.

The programme aims to create the compassionate leaders we need so that we can best serve our communities. It offers space for attendees to identify, understand and challenge system-wide complex problems to enable them to lead successfully in a constantly changing environment.

The programme has been a great success so far and was recently highly commended for the ‘Best Learning and Development Initiative’ at the CIPD People Management Awards. This award recognises how a creative and effective learning and development initiative has contributed to the success of the organisation and its people.
