CNWL partnered with Oxehealth to improve the safety, quality, and efficiency of care on their mental health inpatient wards. This ground-breaking partnership saw CNWL deploy Oxevision, a digital patient monitoring and management system developed by scientists at Oxford University, to raise the standard of care across multiple service lines – the first deployment of its kind globally. Oxevision uses contact-free sensors to measure a patient’s vital signs and high-risk activity. This enables staff to be proactive for caring for patients safety and wellbeing, whilst promoting sleep and independence.

We've recently updated the early insights report after over six months of using Oxevision on: Older adult wards, PICUs, seclusion and health-based places of safety. It was compiled by conducting surveys, interviews and focus groups with service users, ward staff and clinical, operational and project management. It now includes more patient feedback  and highlighting the top facts in the patient experience

Early key findings include:

  1. Improved safety on the wards
  2. Improved patient experience
  3. Better patient care
  4. Impact on time spent for therapeutic engagement
  5. Enhanced physical health monitoring
