On Sunday 14 August, CNWL team members attended an annual Janmashtami Fair; as part of the Trust’s community collaboration programme. Janmashtami is widely celebrated across the country, especially by the Hindu community.
The event was held at the Navnat Community Centre in Hayes, with a variety of stalls, entertainers, artists, music, dance performances and funfair rides. Team members had a chance to talk with members of the public, visitors celebrating Janmashtami, and dignitaries such as Krupesh Hirani, London Assembly Member for Harrow and Brent (pictured below).
Navnat recently played a vital role as a vaccination centre for the local community, with over 85,000 people receiving their vaccines.
Emma Kennedy, CNWL’s Community Collaboration Consultant who was at the event, said: “It was an opportunity to meet community leaders in Hillingdon and start building partnership relationships in line with the health inequalities programme.”
