CNWL’s Music Therapist, Mario Eugster, ran two music therapy workshops for Psychiatrists at the Royal College of Psychiatrists annual conference (Medical Psychotherapy Faculty) last week in Leeds.
Each workshop had around 30 participants and was focused on the conference themes of leadership, conflict and power. It involved music therapeutic exercises, examples of music by Beethoven in relation to the conference theme and group music therapy improvisations.
The groups were very engaged with rich musical explorations, expressions and group reflections. It also allowed great interdisciplinary dialogues between psychiatry and arts psychotherapies.
