The May Davidson Award is defined as an award for clinical psychologists who have made an outstanding contribution to the development of clinical psychology within the first 10 years of their work as a qualified clinical psychologist. This award is given in honour of the late May Davidson.

Dr Nikopaschos is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Whole System Lead for Psychology Services across acute and community secondary care adult mental health in Harrow.

She has made an exceptional contribution to integrating psychology and trauma-informed perspectives into clinical practice for individuals facing severe and enduring mental health challenges. Her remarkable skill, compassion, and dedication have driven the implementation of an innovative trauma-informed approach across adult acute psychiatric wards, home treatment services, and community mental health teams.

Her work has profoundly transformed outcomes, fostering cohesive and positive team cultures, enhancing staff compassion, morale, and understanding of trauma, while reducing self-harm incidents and the use of restrictive practices. It has also boosted staff confidence in applying psychological approaches. This project has gained traction beyond the Trust, both nationally and internationally, receiving national recognition from NHS England. Additionally, the United Nations has requested permission to disseminate a core workbook from the Stabilisation Manual.

Dr Ryan Kemp, Director of Therapies said that "it's a major achievement for Dr Faye to receive this award. It's a credit to her and her colleagues and highlights the value of trauma-informed work. We are really proud of Faye and the work she has done and continues to do".

This award celebrates her determination and perseverance in delivering high-quality work that has significantly improved the lives of those it serves.
