Dr Jai Shree Adhyaru, Head of Therapies for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services appeared on Newsround on Friday 9 August discussing the impact of the riots and what children and young people can do to get emotional and mental health support at times of heightened anxiety.

Dr Jai said:

“It’s really important to let it out, and think about who you can approach to talk to about how you’re feeling right now,”

“I think it’s perfectly understandable that children are worried, and perhaps a little bit scared or frightened. There are lots of adults that are also worried about what’s going on."
