We’re pleased to announce that Dr Mellisha Padayatchi is the new Clinical Director for Health and Justice Services, which provides primary care, substance misuse and mental health services across prisons and young offender institutions in London and the south-east England. In addition, they provide court liaison and diversion services to four London boroughs and Milton Keynes.
Dr Padayatchi is an experienced general adult psychiatrist of 15 years, with eight years of leadership as a Clinical Director in our Hillingdon services. She also served as the Trust’s Medical PICU (Psychiatric Intensive Care Units) Lead, working alongside the Lead Nurse to enhance quality standards across the units. Her leadership in quality improvement and patient flow will be a valuable asset to our service.
She replaces Dr Satinder Sahota, who has served as Clinical Director since April 2020.
Dr Simon Edwards, Medical Director, said:
“We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr Satinder Sahota, guiding the service through the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.
"Under his leadership, we have made significant strides in improving safety, quality, and securing new contracts. I am delighted that Dr Sahota will continue to contribute his expertise, working clinically at Bronzefield Prison”.
