The Ealing Speech and Language Therapy team is holding an awareness month to increase understanding of speech, language and communication.

Together with Early Start, children’s centres and voluntary organisations, they’ll be hosting a range of events and activities for families from 18 September until 18 October 2023.

The full programme will be shared shortly. 

The team will take centre stage with a Makaton flash mob – signing to Don’t stop me now by Queen.

Makaton is a unique language programme that uses symbols, signs and speech to help people to communicate.

On Wednesday 27 September, they want as many people as possible to join in:

Time: 12.15pm to 1.15pm

Hannah Howell-Day from the Under 5's Early Start Speech and Language Therapy Team has given an example in this video below:

The team will be arranging an online revision sign-a-long for anyone who wants to come along and brush up on their signs.
