Natasha Powell, who works as a Senior Occupational Therapist for North Hillingdon CMHT has spoken about her experience, and role as an OT in a new feature article.

Natasha who is a part of Health Education England’s Inspiring Future campaign says she is ‘flying the flag for occupational therapy’ and recently had the unique opportunity to inspire school students at a career fair.

She said to OT news: “I spoke to students who felt they were not academic enough to go to university and were worried that they had no clue what to do as a career path at this stage in their lives.

I shared my own journey of dyslexic and the struggles I experienced in the academic world and also shared the steps that took to be where I am now, in a job that I love.”

Natasha is also an NHS ambassador, they help to illustrate the connection between what students are studying in the classroom and potential job opportunities available in the NHS.

Katherine Sims, Head OT for Hillingdon Mental Health was proud to see Natasha featured to talk about the future of generation of OTs.

Katherine said: “Natasha is continuing to do great work in promoting our profession to school children through Inspiring Futures – which is a virtual careers advice platform.”
