A funeral will take place in loving memory of Ms Jean King, who sadly passed away on January 1, 2023, after a short illness. She was a loving sister, aunt, and friend to many. She was very much missed.

The funeral is to take place at Kensington Temple. Kensington Park Road Notting Hill Gate. London W11 3BY.

Burial follows afterward at Hither Green Cemetery, Verdant Lane Catford, SE6 1TP at 1.30pm.

Flowers may be sent to John Nodes Funeral Directors, Ladbroke Grove or if you would like to donate in memory of Jean, a donation can be made at Kensington Temple.

There is no reception however those who would like to celebrate Jean’s life and raise a glass, please join us at The Tabernacle, 34-35 Powis Square, London W11 2AY on Friday 3 March from 6.30pm.

Biography

Jean was born and grew up in South East London and, she left school with a good set of O-level grades to attend various secretarial colleges.

Jean was quickly employed as a secretary, telephonist, receptionist, and or personal assistant. to a wide variety of companies such as Burberrys, The Institute of Mechanical Engineers, BT-British Telecom, Nokia, The Royal Courts of Justice, The BBC Publications Team before embarking on a more medically linked pathway.

She was employed for many years as the course secretary and personal assistant at The Institute of Urology.

Jean was employed as a secretary to a psychiatrist at the Gordon Hospital in 1999, then shortly joined CNWL via Colville Road Medical Centre as a lead administrator then various teams before joining CMHT Older Adults Team in 2015 where she was employed until 2023. 

Jean had travelled extensively around Europe and was known to be an excellent chef by friends and family alike.

Jean had a big heart and was definitely a people person. She always saw the best in everyone and loved to converse. She could talk for England with a gentle but fierce disposition.

Jean maintained a strong faith and strong principles throughout her life.

Known for giggles and laughter, Jean loved life and lived it with great style, grace, and dignity.

She will be greatly missed by many.  May she rest in eternal peace.
