Today I extend my thanks to our nursing and therapy support family for all you do every day here at CNWL, in every service, location and borough. That thanks goes to those working on the Bank too, a huge part of the CNWL Nursing Support Team.

Some of CNWL's healthcare support workersOur Healthcare support workers (HCSWs) are a crucial part of our nursing and therapy family. They spend more time with patients than any other staff group and help patients with all aspects of their daily life, including social and physical activities, personal care, mobility and meal times.

Here at CNWL we have HCSWs in every environment including inpatient units, people’s homes and in the community. They support those receiving acute care, people with learning disabilities, those receiving maternity care, people with physical disabilities, dementia and other mental health conditions.

I know many of you will be marking the week. Please send in your photos to @CNWLNHS so we can share them too.

We are in the most amazing professions and let’s use the opportunity to encourage the next generation of people who may not have thought about coming into nursing or a therapy profession and support roles to do so.

Join me today in thanking our HCSWs and shining a spotlight on all they do as a crucial part of our nursing family.

With my best wishes and heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you

Online roadshows today for Nursing Support Worker Recognition Day

Online roadshows will be taking place from 12pm and 2pm for CNWL nursing and therapy staff. Please join us to highlight the vital contribution nursing support workers make, discuss personal and professional development and hear from some our wonderful nursing support workers. Everyone is welcome including support workers, line managers and anyone who wants to celebrate the nursing support worker role.

We will also be announcing winners of the CNWL support workers awards (open to nursing and AHP support workers) towards the end of both roadshows which we'll publish later today
