London Borough of Harrow recently held an event to support Special Educational and Disability (SEND) students with their transition into adulthood, including primary through to secondary school as well as the transition from children to adult health services.

Colleagues from our Children’s Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy teams in Harrow attended, meeting with families and young people to discuss therapy provisions and strategies to support them in their new settings. Colleges, mental health and respite support services also attended.

Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, Lucy Stephens, said:

“As a team, we found it really helpful to talk with families and give advice on what they can access within adult services. It was great to meet other services and partners to discuss how we can work together to support young people and their families at points of transition”.
