The NHS in North West London is reviewing palliative and end of life care and we want to hear from people who use, or care for someone who uses, mental health services about what would be important to them for palliative care of your choice.

In North West London we have good palliative care but the variety of community-based specialist palliative care services (i.e. 7 day working, access to 24/7 specialist advice, hospice at home) don’t reach enough of our residents and diverse communities.

Too many people go into hospital unnecessarily in their last year of life.  Nationally most people say they would prefer to die at home, Here 49% of our residents die in hospital, 5% in hospices, 14% in care homes. Only 28% die at home.

You are invited to a webinar on Wednesday 16 March (6.30 to 8.30pm) as we look to develop adult palliative and end of life care that meets the needs of all our community.

We are reviewing these services to focus on the care provided in your home, in a hospice or a health centre in the first instance.

Please join us. But if you would prefer just to send us your views please complete our online survey or write to us about it.
