Jenny Lanyero, Team Manager, Brent Health Matters, Health Inequalities Team writes about the event on Thursday 20 May.

“There was about 20 of us from different Trusts and services.. We were hosted in the garden in a gazebo. Canapes and refreshments.

“When the Prime Minister came out he addressed us all, thanked us for all the hard work we have done during the pandemic and generally. He called out our names, mentioning where we work and what he was told we were doing.. I told him about the health inequalities work and he said ‘marvellous’ and moved on.

“He said he was grateful for the NHS, mentioned how he was looked after when he contracted Covid. General questions about NHS funding asked and he agreed that it’s very important we keep the NHS going. He talked about the vaccination roll out and how other countries are impressed what the NHS has done. He was impressed by what was being done to address hesitancy such as using community and faith leads.

“Thanks for the nomination (told my mum!). I am glad I went and I got to meet and connect with other people from different Trusts and services.”

Jenny was nominated by Robyn Doran, CNWL’s Chief Operating Officer.
