Following a fantastic 2021 launch earlier this month, One Community Radio will be here for another show on Friday 29 January at 1pm.

As the national restrictions continue we’re bringing people together virtually and checking in to see how everyone is doing.

This week we are celebrating all things David Bowie, sharing our favourite songs, albums and quotes that have inspired listeners and presenters at One Community Radio. Nicola Jane, former patient and now regular guest at One Community Radio will be joining Cate to chat about their mutual appreciation of Bowie.

We’ll be hearing from our regular guests Evvy Miller reading Life of Pi, Laura Cavill our Poet Laureate with her own composition inspired by David Bowie and writer Stewart Permutt will be reading a poem of his choice.

This week’s special guest is Holly Thomas and she will be talking to us about her new role as CNWL’s Domestic Abuse Coordinator. Holly will be sharing the aims of her role in supporting the Trust to improve practices around domestic abuse. If you would like to share with Holly your views on what the Trust could do to help tackle domestic abuse and support victims please join our discussion during the show.

We’ll also be hearing about the Voice Exchange’s new Living Library virtual event happening on 4 February.

To celebrate LGBT+ History month both our February shows on the 12 and 26 February will have an LGBT+ theme. More details will be revealed next week, so stay tuned.
