This week (15-21 June 2020) marks Learning Disability Week.

The lockdown can be a very difficult time for somebody with a learning disability (LD), who may already face feelings of loneliness and isolation when things are normal.

Our LD wards are planning a number of activities throughout this week to encourage participation and involvement. This includes:

  • An "I have a learning disability and I am good at..." poster to be completed and displayed in ward areas
  • A Zoom tea party and quiz on 19 June from 3pm-4pm.

This week is also a good opportunity to remind everyone why working in LD can be very fulfilling and satisfying. The video below is a compilation of interviews with our trainees who reflect on why they chose and love working in LD.
