February is LGBT+ History Month and the theme for this year is Behind the Lens; celebrating LGBT+ peoples’ contribution to cinema and film.
CNWL’s LGBT+ Staff Network, Pride@CNWL, has a packed programme of events, Q&As, discussions, socials where we’ll shine a light on LGBT+ staff experiences at CNWL and beyond.
Save the dates and event links.
All CNWL staff are welcome as an ally or network member. Some events are open to wider NHS staff too so check the fuller details in the programme.
We hope to see you there.

We want to celebrate LGBT+ as captured by the lens. Please share with us your absolute favourite LGBT+ themed Film or Documentary and why you like it.
Your personal review, using mixed media or just plain text, must be no more than 500 words, or no more than five minutes of mixed media presentation. You may submit up to five entries per person. Submissions must be sent to lgbt.cnwl@nhs.net by Sunday 29 January 10pm. Ideally, your review, will include some of the footage shot by that lens but that isn’t the absolute deal breaker – how convincing you are about it’s contribution to our wonderful LGBT past and how it helps us to celebrate our present is.
Our panel of experts will read every submission and will shortlist EIGHT films and documentaries to be presented at our celebration of the very best of LGBT+ Behind the Lens at an open online forum , a public event on Thursday 9th February from 2pm to 3pm …. Anyone may come … just click here….
After the reviews have been shared, everyone who attends the celebration will be able to vote for one and ONLY one film or documentary which has had the greatest impact on their awareness of LGBT+ themes, happy or sad, large or small, fiction or fact, personal or universal.
