A mobile health clinic - The Man Van - is traveling around Brent and will be carrying out free health checks for men in a private and relaxed environment with a focus on prostate cancer.

Anyone who lives, works or registered with a GP in Brent can book a free health check. Book now as there are a limited number of appointments available, to book please click here. 

At the appointment the PSA test will be available, it is a simple blood test used to help diagnose prostate cancer.

It's important to know your risk of prostate cancer, the follow factors can increase your risk:

  • You are 2.5X more likely to get prostate cancer if your father or brother has had it
  • Black and mixed Black men are more likely to get prostate cancer. 1 in 4 black men in the UK will get prostate cancer in their lifetime 
  • Prostate cancer mainly affects men over 50. Your risk increases with age.

If you are more at risk, it does not mean you will get cancer but it's important to schedule check-ups (like at the Man Van) or visit the GP if you have symptoms of prostate cancer (it may not be cancer but it's good to get it checked). For more information on symptoms, click here.
