After years in the making, we officially opened the new Belsize Priory Health Centre.
The Mayor of Camden, Cllr Nazma Rahman, joined us for the grand opening to cut the ribbon and celebrate over cake, with over 50 staff and patients who visit the centre.
Cllr Rahman brought along her daughter for the celebration, saying:
“I’m so happy to see such a lovely community space and excited about what’s going to be happening here. I’ve visited the old clinic with my family and I will be visiting the service here too!”
The centre will be home to some of our children’s services, health visitors, dietitians, health living practitioners, podiatrists and district nurses. Belsize is part of our wider Camden Integrated Community Healthcare (CICH).
The new location is just down the road from the old centre. More information about Belsize Priory Health Centre can be found here.
It offers the latest facilities and equipment, including a new chiropodist workshop run by Elanor Robinson and Kirnjit Gill, who create custom made soles for shoes. The workshop has a unique layout specifically to fit the service.
The centre stands out with its modern look, timber beams surround the building as well as nearby green spaces. Inside the spacious reception area, Anne Cope and Catherine Canning from the administration team are busy keeping the centre running. Anne and Catherine have been working together at Belsize for 22 years – even starting on the same day!
Speaking at the event, Vanessa Odlin, Goodall Divisional Director said:
“Wow, what an amazing building. Hearing from staff – what a difference it makes you being in here, not just for partnership working but making a difference to your working lives with the tools to support you. Such a difference for looking after patients.”
