Today, 21 February, is Mental Health Nurses' Day when we say a huge thank you to all our mental health nurses working across CNWL in adult services, children’s services or specialist teams.
Our Chief Nurse, Maria O’Brien, shares this message today
"I want to say a huge thank you to all our mental health nurses today on Mental Health Nurses’ Day.
Whether you work in our adult services, children’s services or specialist teams – you do an amazing job!
Thank you to all those on the temporary staffing bank too - you play a crucial role in delivery of care at CNWL.
Our nursing workforce continues to grow and we’re part of a scheme to attract nursing talent from overseas. We have around 200 international nurses who’ve joined us in the last few years and many of those nurses work in mental health services. I’m pleased to see some of you have already been promoted to senior nursing positions too. We couldn’t do what we do without you – Welcome and thank you.
Today is the sixth in what has become an annual day to encourage interest in the specialty and the diversity of roles we have available here at CNWL. Mental health is a fantastic career choice for people of all ages and backgrounds. There are lots of opportunities within the Trust and we encourage you to stay with us throughout your career.
I hope you take some time today to raise a ‘cup’ to mark the day and remind yourself why you came into this amazing profession. You should be very proud of what you do and we’re proud to support all our nurses in providing the best and safest care possible."
Thank you
Maria
