Each week of Community Services Month, we hold lunch and learn sessions relating to that week’s theme. This week we shone the spotlight on our children and young people community services.
Over 50 staff came together to learn from each other, during the session we heard from:
- Sophie talked through the challenges our Health Visiting team faced around recruitment and increasing caseloads, and how they had addressed these
- Ciara introduced our Hillingdon Walks, Talks and Plays website Hillingdon Talks, Moves, Plays: Children’s Integrated Therapy Service (CITS) explaining the incredible resources they have put together which can help support parents in their journey
- Sladjana from School Nursing talked about how they have transformed their service to engage more with the different communities they have in Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea
- Kas spoke about their amazing work supporting children with asthma in Ealing. They now have nearly 100 less children missing school each year due to asthma than they did two years ago. Did you know the carbon emissions from one inhaler is the equivalent to a car driving from Ealing to Sheffield?
- Ola mentioned the work we do in Harrow within the Paediatric Nursing team. Within their small team they have expertise to support children in over fourteen different complex conditions
- Sian discussed the incredible partnership work that happens in Camden between four different organisations with one clinical system and coordinated care planning
