Volunteers from Project Wingman at South Wing, St Pancras Hospital

Project Wingman will be taking off at St Pancras Hospital, an initiative backed by members of the airline industry offering support to staff during the current COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak.

The crew who are all volunteers from BA, Virgin and Norwegian airlines will be on hand to provide a listening ear, having shared experience of working in a highly disciplined way, to mark International Nurses Day tomorrow (12 May 2020).

They will be available in the Groves Lounge, South Wing.

The initiative welcomes all CNWL staff to pop down and visit for some refreshments and a unique opportunity to share stories with aviation colleagues.

Airline staff from across the capital give staff the chance to unwind and chat to fellow professionals who are used to the pressures of working in a stressful environment in designated first class style lounges.

Having been trained in compassionate listening and stress reduction techniques, the pilots and cabin crew can offer a listening ear and advice for managing stressful and pressurised situations.

Earlier in the month we welcomed the first class lounges at Northwick Park Hospital, where colleagues described the experience as ‘really thoughtful’, ‘amazing’ and ‘very relaxing’.
