A special commemoration was held on Monday 11 September to remember Nuala Mullan, a much loved colleague who died a year ago, having left CNWL in 2021 after over 20 years with the Trust.
The bench in her honour has been placed at St Charles Hospital where she worked for many years and was unveiled in the presence of a large group of her family, friends and colleagues. Several colleagues shared memories of Nuala and the impact she had made on both patients and their families and the inspiration she gave to so many staff. Nuala’s husband spoke movingly of how much the family appreciated both the beautiful bench and the clear evidence of how much Nuala was valued by all who worked with her.
The inscription on the bench reads:
‘In memory of Nuala Mullan. What do stars do? They shine. Their light touches those around them and they shine too'
