The University of Health Sciences in Somalia has written a heartfelt letter of thanks to CNWL’s Westminster Community Mental Health Teams for donating a number of books to help cover a shortage.

Abulkadir Mohamed, a nurse in training with our South Westminster CMHT made the generous donations while on holiday in Somalia. The university said the books will cover a shortage of materials they have in areas like pharmacy, medicine, mental health, nursing and social work.

Abdul also delivered mental health awareness training to the university and staff at the country’s Ministry of Health.

Claire Symons, Deputy Borough Director for Westminster said of Abdul, “He is the most wonderful, committed, kind and generous person who never seems to have his time in the spotlight, as never seems to think anything he does is that worth shouting about, but he is an absolute credit to the Trust.”
