We’re delighted to share that Carmen Manyan, Healthcare Support Worker at St Pancras Hospital, has been honoured with a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Support Worker Excellence Award.
Carmen was nominated by her manager, Salima, who said:
“Carmen has been unwavering in her dedication and she goes above and beyond in her role. Carmen lives locally and is always willing to cover shifts when the ward is short staffed, with short notice.
"Her in-depth knowledge of ward processes improves patients experience in many ways. An example is her dedication to patient’s personal property. Dentures, glasses, hearing aid, telephone and charger rarely go astray due to her efforts.
"We recently admitted a patient with a cochlear implant, and Carmen made sure staff were familiar with the device and took a photo of it so all would recognise it. This attention to detail to support independence and recovery shows her understanding of patients’ needs.”

The Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Midwifery Officer Awards celebrate the contributions of healthcare support workers (HCSWs) who consistently demonstrate the NHS values in their everyday roles.
Healthcare support workers like Carmen play a vital role in clinical settings and local communities up and down the country, making a real difference to the lives of patients and supporting their nursing teams every day.
Carmen said:
“I’m honoured to be awarded the Chief Nursing Officer award and I’m really proud to work at St Pancras Hospital. I feel proud when I see patients come for rehabilitation, see them through their journey and see the progress they make to achieve their goals. I take pride in supporting new staff so that they can learn and reach their full potential.”
Carmen has been invited to an awards ceremony at Kensington Town Hall to celebrate the achievement. Well done, Carmen!
