Last night, we spent an evening at the Curzon Theatre, for the first screening of There’s a place for you, a series of films from our CAMHS service.

The series, produced by And Productions, was created with our staff and a young person, showing the working and clinical experiences of child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS).

CAMHS is made up of a team of professionals with different skills and backgrounds who work together to provide a range of support to young people and their families, helping with their mental health and emotional wellbeing.

In these films, team members from across the service reveal the day-to-day realities of their roles in mental health, highlighting how rewarding their work is, and why they are so passionate about working with young people.

At the screening, we were joined by Graeme Caul, CNWL’s Chief Operating Officer and Tina Swain, Service Director for CAMHS and Eating Disorder Services.

Speaking at the event, Tina said:

"I want to say a heartfelt thank you for this amazing evening. There is an underlining theme of family woven into the films, and it was humbling to see so many colleagues on the big screen sharing their experiences. It takes an insightful look at our staff who are hugely committed to the young people they see. I hope this can help raise awareness of the opportunities a career within CAMHS can offer.”

The film series will be released online shortly, so keep an eye out for the links.
