Tina Swain has been appointed as the new Service Director for CAMHS and Eating Disorder Services.

She is replacing Jackie Shaw, who is leaving CNWL after many years’ service.

This marks a return to CNWL for Tina who had worked in Milton Keynes for many years as a member of the senior leadership team and who says it is an “absolute pleasure to be returning”.

Tina has worked as an NHS Mental Health Nurse for more than 25 years, having aspired to be a nurse since she was five years old.

During her career she has worked with both adults and children in a variety of community, in-patient, secure and acute settings.  More recently she has been working for Northamptonshire Clinical Commissioning Group across health and care within an emerging Integrated Care System.

She said: “It is my absolute pleasure to be returning to CNWL, and to an area of work which I am so passionate about. I feel just ready to burst with energy and excitement for the weeks, months and years ahead.

“We are at a tipping point in our future, with so much investment and focus on CAMHS, Eating Disorders and Mental Health to really make a difference and I am confident we will.

“I genuinely believe that as health and care professionals, we are in a truly unique and privileged position to work with amazing people, and if we get it right, make a massive difference in their lives.

“However, we can only do this if we work hard together, with a share vision and with shared values.”

When Tina isn’t working she can mostly be found in her greenhouse trying to grow vegetables or in antiques shops.

She also loves spending holiday time in Luxor, Egypt.

Tina lives in Northamptonshire with her husband Mark, a retired Police Officer and their German Shepherd Storm.
