Kim Cox, who is CNWL’s Director of Nursing for mental health services across North West London, took an early morning walk through Regents Park on Monday 4 May.

On hearing a commotion Kim found a young woman having an epileptic fit, with other people trying to help; the young woman had already sustained a some injuries to her face and there was some blood around.

Kim took charge, put on her gloves, directed other passersby to calling the ambulance and the woman was eventually taken to hospital and was very grateful.

Kim said, “I was really pleased to have helped and as I’ve been going round our Units had gloves with me in my bag – I surprised myself at how quickly my training kicked in! it was lovely to be able to help someone in this unexpected way!”
