We’re delighted to announce the North West London (NWL) CAMHS Provider Collaborative team has been shortlisted in the ‘Provider Collaboration of the Year’ category at this year’s HSJ Awards.

The collaborative is a partnership between West London NHS Trust (lead provider) and CNWL.

Over 1350 entries were submitted to this year’s awards, with 234 projects and individuals reaching the final shortlist. The award recognises the work carried out at all levels to align priorities between provider organisations, which lead to greater efficiency and the development of person-centred services.

The NWL CAMHS Provider Collaborative was formed in 2020, to transform mental healthcare for local children. The collaborative is clinically-led and partnership-oriented, with a mission to achieve the best outcomes for young people and their families.

The primary goal is to support children and young people in the least restrictive settings, bringing care closer to home through innovative community support while addressing the challenge of having one of the lowest bed bases for CAMHS in the country.

Previously, many children were placed out of the area, leading to long admissions and poor outcomes. You can find out more about the collaborative’s work on our website.

Graeme Caul, Chief Operating Officer at CNWL, said:

“I’m really pleased to see this nomination and send my thanks to all the staff involved with the CAMHS collaborative across the region. By working closely together we can improve, standardise and integrate patient services; that’s better for young people and their loved ones and other health and social care services in the region. Our combined efforts will continue to focus on achieving the best possible outcomes for the people we serve.”

George Katsande, Director of Business and Strategy at West London NHS Trust, said:

“This nomination is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and to the spirit of all the partners involved in working together in our North West London CAMHS Provider Collaborative. We are truly honoured and proud to be recognised for our shared commitment to meeting the needs of children and young people across all North West London boroughs.”

HSJ Editor, Alastair McLellan, said:

“It always gives me great pleasure to congratulate our finalists at this stage of the judging process and this year is no exception. However, it’s always important to remember that the HSJ Awards are not just a celebration of success stories but also a platform to shape the future of the NHS."

The selected winners will be announced during the awards ceremony at Evolution London, on 21 November 2024.
