Child Development services work to identify, assess, investigate and support children and young people with-long term neurodevelopmental disorders and neurodisabilities, including autism.

When a professional has identified some difficulties with your child's development or social communication skills they may speak to you about referral to the Child Development Centre.

To be referred to the child development centre your child needs to be registered with a GP. You will need to ask your GP for a referral to your local service.

MOSAIC

Camden MOSAIC is an integrated service for children and young people with disabilities or complex developmental needs, and their families.

The service aims to help children and young people to join in with all aspects of school, leisure and community activities, and support their independence and involvement in all decisions that affect them, preparing them for adult life.

MOSAIC (Making Our Services All Integrated in Camden) is a joint service provided by CNWL and the London Borough of Camden.

The team includes:

  • Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist
  • Child Psychotherapist, Clinical Psychologist, Child Psychiatrist and Family Therapist
  • Specialist Health Visitor, Paediatric Dietician and Paediatrician
  • Social Workers and a Family Support Worker

In this film, we meet the Camden MOSAIC Child Development Team (CDT)

This film features members of the team and parents / carers of children who have used the service. The film will talk about what to expect when your child is referred into the CDT Team.

Resources

We’ve put together some information sheets to support your parenting journey. They are relevant to everyone regardless of where you live:

Supporting young people with sensory needs

Up to 96 per cent of autistic people have sensory needs and there is a high rate of sensory differences in those with other forms of neurodiversity, so it’s important to understand this and how to support the people we engage with at CNWL.
