These services each specialise in a particular area of employment support and have their own referral systems.

The NEP offers one to one appointments and job clubs for residents of Milton Keynes, including dedicated mental health employment advisors. We provide support, advice and practical help with preparing and applying for work, volunteering and training as well as help for individuals needing support with their current employment.

Works for Us is a Milton Keynes based charity that provides free information, advice and training tailored to each individual's needs. They work in close partnership with Citizens Advice so that people can also access their full range of services at the same time.

Through delivery of free courses, training, workshops and drop-in sessions they provide help with:

  • Building confidence and developing interpersonal skills
  • Understanding needs and developing a plan to attain employment goals
  • Interview training, job searches, CV preparation and job applications
  • Support with finding volunteering opportunities / work experience

They work with clients for as long as required and never turn anyone away.

Age UK Milton Keynes support customers on an ESF-funded programme called Building Better Opportunities, and can help with CV-writing, job searches and applications, interview skills, training and anything else needed on their journey to employment.

CRC Ltd, ETE Service support customers who have a previous conviction to get into work and training.  They are also able to deliver careers advice as part of the National Careers Service. 

They can help with CV-writing, disclosure advice, job searches and applications, interview skills, training and anything else needed on your journey to employment.

This is a free government-funded service and is available in England.

Milton Keynes College has partnered with Milton Keynes Council to provide support to Milton Keynes residents who need help finding work. The service supports people of all ages, and is eligible to those who are unemployed, at risk of redundancy, not in education, working part time, but would like to work more. The service will give you the skills you need to find a new job in the new recruitment landscape, including:

  • CV-writing
  • Creating professional profiles for social media
  • Using platforms like Zoom and MS Teams for video interviews

You will be given a dedicated Career Mentor who will work with you to uncover your unique value from your career to date and how these skills could be transferred to roles in emerging sectors.
