Over the last 12 months, we’ve delivered the Year of the Child programme to increase awareness of CNWL’s expertise in children’s healthcare. On Monday 13 November, we gathered at Trust Headquarters to share the progress we’ve made so far. We were joined by Executives, Borough and service directors, Governors, ICB colleagues and representatives from across children’s services.

Our next Year of the Child session will focus on substances with a high prevalence amongst young people: cannabis, lean, alcohol and club drugs such as cocaine, MDMA, ketamine and amphetamines, and harm minimisation.

CNWL spent an evening at the Curzon Theatre, for the first screening of ‘There’s a place for you’, a series of films from our CAMHS service. The series, produced by And Productions, was created with our staff and a young person, showing the working and clinical experiences of child and adolescent mental health services.

CNWL held an online safety conversation day for staff last week, hosted by Dr Cornelius Kelly, CNWL’s Chief Medical Officer, and Maria O’Brien, Chief Nurse. The day focused on a range of safety topics including the safe environment, safety tools and safe use of medicines and how safe care begins with happy and supported staff.
