The Lighthouse is a mental health assessment centre at St Mary’s Hospital, which provides patients who require emergency care for their mental health an immediate therapeutic environment to be seen by professionals.
It is a collaboration between Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. It is a 365 days a year service open from 8am to 9pm.
This service is for adults (18+) who present to St Mary’s A&E with mental health needs and provides patients with an extended and informed assessment of their needs, with a range of therapeutic interventions on offer.
This service requires a referral from the A&E department. Patients go to A&E as their first point of call for all emergencies/urgent support, including mental health.
