Spectrom project management group meeting
09 April 2019
The first project meeting with the Project Management Group was held on the 9th of April. Every participant in the meeting was informed of the progress of the project and the structure for SPECTROM. Information and opinions on current training procedure were exchanged. Update on STOMP was received.
Focus groups
30 April 2019 - 04 June 2019
4 Focus Group were completed; 2 focus groups with care staff members and 2 focus groups with service managers, trainers and CLDT members.
The first focus group with care staff members was held on the 30th of April, 2019.
The second focus group with care staff members was held on the 28th of May, 2019.
The first focus group with service managers, trainers and CLDT members was held on the 14th of May, 2019.
The second focus group with service managers, trainers and CLDT members was held on the 5th of June , 2019.
All focus group discussions were transcribed and analysed using Nvivo software to generate themes for topic of SPECTROM. Modules and sub-modules were generated from this data.
Getting it right
More meetings were held with the project management group, PEP development group and steering committee group to ensure the smooth running of SPECTROM project.
Information and themes generated from focus group were discussed.
All stakeholders' advice on the training were taken forward.
Co-design event
09 July 2019
A one-day co-design event took place on the 9th of July, involving all stakeholders.
The purpose of this event was to generate texts and case vignettes corresponding to the modules/submodules identified.
Spectrom work
The following has been achieved:
Literature review on scales used for challenging behaviour.
Development of Comprehensive Assessment of Triggers for behaviour Scale (CATS) - this will help care staff assess potential triggers of behaviours.
Accessible leaflets on commonly prescribed medicine.
Final draft of SPECTROM training and modules.
Field test and publication of SPECTROM.
Cornwall Learning Disability Advisory Group (LDAG)
The LDAG is compromised of many individuals with intellectul disabilities.
LDAG has continuously given us their feedback on the project, as well as, the accessible leaflets.
